Moncton Northeast
Construction Association
It Makes Good Business Sense
The Moncton Northeast Construction Association,
established in 1942, is one of New Brunswick’s leading business
associations, representing the interests of general contractors, trade and
sub contractors and suppliers to the construction industry at the local,
provincial and national level. The Association membership includes nearly
300 businesses, mainly operating in eastern New Brunswick from Campbellton
to Sackville.
One might ask the question, "Why do so many
businesses join the Association?" The answer is simple. By joining
MNECA, your firm will be able to take advantage of many "membership
only" privileges aimed at improving the efficiency, the visibility and
the bottom line of your firm.
The major benefits that motivate firms to become members can be divided in
six major categories.
|
- Advocacy/Voice of the Industry
Community
- Project Information
- Networking
- Directory
- Benefits/Discounts
- Labour Relations
|
|

Advocacy
We promote the contributions and importance of the
construction industry to our economy. We make the views of construction-related
firms known to governments, legislators, the media and the public.
Membership in the Association allows you to have a voice in this process.
The Association is a member of the Construction Association of New
Brunswick and the Canadian Construction Association and maintains a
relationship with other construction-related associations throughout the
Atlantic Region.
|
|
|
|
Project Information
As well as providing plans for viewing of all government and many private
projects throughout Atlantic Canada, the Association publishes a weekly
bulletin which contains vital information such as the tender calling
authority, closing dates and times, and addendums/amendments. The
Association also provides bidder’s list, planholder lists, low bid
and tender award information on all projects. 24-hour access to the
facility is also available which allows on-site viewing of plans and
specifications at all times. As well, using the CINet database MNECA
provides its members internet access to all project information.
|
|
|
|
Networking
Throughout the year MNECA host numerous social functions including monthly
dinner meetings, a curling bonspiel and a golf tournament. These events
provide members endless networking and educational opportunities. The informal
settings of these events encourage easy conversation and exchange of
business cards and ideas.
|
|
|
|
Directory
Since MNECA is a member of the Construction Association of New Brunswick,
members are listed in the Annual CANB Directory. This Directory is
published each January and is distributed to all members and is available
to anyone seeking construction-related services.
|
|
|
|
Benefits/Discounts
There are numerous benefit programs available to Association members, which
can save your firm money. Education and Safety Training is coordinated
which provides the membership with a collective price.
|
|
|
|
Labour Relations
The Association is the accredited employer’s organization under the
New Brunswick Industrial Relations Act and bargains on behalf of its
certified members with both the Labours International Union of North America
and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America.
